The Gwalia Welsh HarpThe Gwalia Welsh Harp

The Gwalia is the most popular harp in the Celtic series, based on a traditional Welsh design. It is similar in stringing and tension to a pedal harp.

Favoured by schools and colleges for its extensive range and clear bright sound, the Gwalia Harp is suitable for the novice, to the more experienced and accomplished harpists, and ideal for those individuals whose aim is to progress towards playing the pedal harp.

The Gwalia Welsh Harp

Strung with top quality gut strings with the base strings being wire with a nylon core, key notes are defined by coloured windings.

Bronze semi-tone levers are fitted as standard, which are both robust and reliable but most importantly produce a consistently clear sound when engaged.

The neck is made from multi-laminated selected beech veneers for strength and durability. Top quality sitka spruce or western red cedar are used on the soundboard. Five coats of French polish is applied to the harp to produce a high quality fine finish. Each harp is supplied with a tuning key.
